Awesome breakfast and fair prices. Service was quick and friendly! Two of us had endless coffee and breakfast and it was under $20 - awesome!

For the years that my boyfriend lived down the street in Rockwood, this spot beside the railway crossing was something of an institution for us when I visited. All-day breakfast well suited to us late-rising night owls, or a good greasy-spoon-fare lunch after a long hunger-inducing hike in the conservation area. And of course, the convenience store part of it has saved our butts a few times when we've needed something and the foodland or drugstore was closed. They also cater to the large amount of tourists that come to camp in the conservation area in the summer, so you'll find things like matches, bugspray, marshmallow/hot-dog roasting forks and big bags of marshmallows on the shelves.
Food is pretty classic roadside diner fare; burgers, fries, grilled cheese, poutine, juice is served from bottles. Breakfast too, is classic stuff; pancakes, various eggs and toast, omelettes made with processed cheese, tea comes as a little stainless steel pot you dip a bag into, and the bacon is always cooked just right. It's nothing exciting but it's good, filling and VERY affordable. $10 will get you an actual meal. They've also added some sushi recently, but I dunno if I trust a diner with my sushi... Wait staff are friendly and attentive, though first-timers can find it a bit confusing as it's very much a "take an empty seat and wait" style of cafe, and payment is up at the cash register in the convenience store. Chairs and tables are a bit cold, being all metal; I recommend the booths/tables nearer to the walls that have more wood on them if it bothers you. We always had a "usual" two-person table in the middle. There's also a bar that can be eaten at, and usually sports or news on the TV. -
